Ashleigh Peoples, MD
Dr. Ashleigh Peoples completed her residency in Family Medicine at the renowned University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, an academic medical center consistently ranked among the nation's top hospitals. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Women's Studies from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, and a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Before earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Peoples spent over five years as an epidemiologist in the Washington, DC area, specializing in data management and analysis on research topics for government agencies including Women's Health, prenatal care, National Children's Study (NIH, NICHD), World Trade Center Health Program, and Military/Veteran Health. Currently, she serves as an adjunct clinical associate at the University of Michigan Medical School.
As a physician-leader, Dr. Peoples combines her public health expertise with a compassionate approach to establish strong, trusting relationships with her patients. She enjoys providing care for the entire family, from newborns to seniors, and has a particular interest in managing complex chronic conditions as well as focusing on prevention and lifestyle medicine. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Peoples resides in Berkley with her family, which includes her 3-year-old son, Nyles and significant other, Josh. She has a passion for home renovation, history, podcasts, and group fitness activities.
